Local Favorites

Las Vegas is a town that is Legendary for it's great food deals, $1.99 steaks, $2.99 Buffets, $1.00 Shrimp cocktails ... There are a lot of people who will tell you that "those day's are long gone", but our locals will tell you there are still some great deals in Las Vegas. One place seldom mentioned by your travel agent is a little place called Ellis Island (Flamingo and Koval),  For $4.95, you get a 10 ounce New York Strip steak that is simply grilled to perfection. Add a mug of the house beer ... (did I mention that it's also our favorite Micro Brew?) and you have a combination that is simply unbeatable. On Wednesdays, you can get any menu item for $3.95.

WANT TO LEARN HOW
TO PLAY BLACKJACK?

There are lot's of new poker rooms in Las Vegas

Tired of playing online?

Vegas has been and will always be the center of the Poker World!

On my last trip into Vegas, I spent several sessions playing poker. Frequent readers to this site  know that I have always heard great things from players and readers about many of the new card rooms, The Mirage, The Bellagio and Mandalay Bay all treat players well and have outstanding tournaments.

The Orleans has been very consistent on our last 2 trips with great touraments, and good action on both No Limit and spread Hold'em games. Samstown also has a new HORSE tournament on Sunday nights.

Mandalay Bay is also a fantastic stop with a great cardroom where they really treat the players well (comps/good room rates)

We have also revised the Tournament Schedule

Here is the complete listing of Las Vegas Poker Tournaments.

PW's Guide to Horse Racing

For those of you who would like to learn how to bet on the horses, our resident handicapper PW has put together an easy Guide to Horse Racing ... it's fun, free and it could make you some money. We also added a bet calculator since several of you asked for a quick way to figure out how much trifecta and superfecta part wheels would cost. (bet calculator)

The Golden Nugget was voted #1 in 2007 for having the best No Limit Hold'em Tournaments in Las Vegas. Make sure you catch the Friday night tournaments. Don't be surprised if you find yourself seated at the same table with some of the pro's you see on TV.
