BACCARAT:
 Baccarat
(and Mini-Baccarat) is one of the the easiest and enjoyable casino games to learn and play.
The only difference between Baccarat and Mini-Baccarat is that in Baccarat,
each player will have an opportunity to deal the cards. The Dealer may bet on
either "The Player" or "The Bank" but will control the cards
for the bank hand. Usually the player who has the highest bet on "The
Player" hand will turn the cards for that hand. In Mini-Baccarat, there is
a house dealer and the player does not touch the cards.
The Basics
Baccarat uses a
standard 8 deck shoe. There are two hands dealt. One hand represents the dealer
(The Bank) and the other is the players hand (The Player). Any player can bet on
either hand. Each hand receives two cards with each card counting its face value
(1 through 9) with 10's and picture cards counting as zero and aces counting as
1. The hand closest to 9 wins. If either hand is dealt a total of 8 or 9, that
is a "natural" and no other cards are dealt. If neither hand is
dealt a natural, then an additional card is drawn.
There are only 3 possible bets:

The Player - Pays even money

Tie Hand - Pays 8 to 1
The House Edge:
The Bank hand has an approximate edge of 2.5%. The house will
collect a 5% commission on a winning bet on "The Bank". There are no
commissions paid on "The Player" or "Tie Hand". The odds on
two hands being tie is approximately 9 to 1 (9.52) but it pays only 8 to 1. The
total house edge is less than 2% against you if you only bet the Player or Bank
hands which makes Baccarat a very reasonable bet.
